in Silsilat al-Ahādīth al-Sahīha, no. (90).
13—The hadith: “A time will come upon people when they will deem usury lawful under the name of sale.”
He cited it in Ighāthat al-Lahfān, vol. 1, p. 352. p. 32
Weak. Al-Khattābī narrated it in Gharīb al-Hadīth (folio 42/1), from Suwayd, from Ibn al-Mubārak, from al-Awzāʿī, traced back to the Prophet.
I say: This chain is weak, with two or more consecutive transmitters omitted. Al-Awzāʿī was a trustworthy leading scholar, but he belonged to the generation following the Successors. His hadith therefore contains such an omission, and a report with two or more consecutive transmitters omitted is one of the categories of weak hadith, as established in the science of hadith terminology. I say this to clarify the status of the chain and to ensure that a Muslim does not attribute to the Prophet ﷺ something he did not say. Nevertheless, the meaning of the hadith has become a reality, as can be witnessed today. That, however, does not mean that one may state with certainty that the Prophet ﷺ said it, as is well known to people of knowledge and expertise.
14—The Prophet ﷺ said: “Deeds are only by intentions, and every person will have only what he intended.” Al-Bukhārī. p. 33
Authentic. Al-Bukhārī and Muslim, among others, narrated it from Umar ibn al-Khattāb, traced back to the Prophet. It is a well-known hadith, whose sources I documented in al-Irwāʾ (22).
15—The Prophet ﷺ said: “In the sexual relations of each one of you there is charity.” They asked, “O Messenger of Allah, can one of us satisfy his desire and receive a reward for it?” He replied, “If he were to satisfy it unlawfully, would he not bear a sin? Likewise, when he satisfies it lawfully, he receives a reward.” Narrated by al-Bukhārī and Muslim. p. 33
