Al-Tabarānī narrated it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghīr (p. 230).
The other is transmitted by way of Nahshal al-Khurāsānī, through his chain, also from Abū al-Dardā.
Al-Dāraqutnī narrated it (p. 550).
Both Asram and Nahshal are liars!
5 — (“Whoever introduces into this matter of ours anything that does not belong to it will have it rejected.”
Agreed upon.) p. 21
Authentic. It was narrated by al-Bukhārī (166/2), Muslim (133/5), Abū Dāwūd (4606), Ibn Mājah (no. 14), al-Dāraqutnī (p. 520), al-Bayhaqī (119/10), al-Tayālisī in his Musnad (1422), Ahmad (270/6), Abū Bakr al-Shāfi'ī in al-Fawā'id (fol. 2/106)—and through him, al-Qudā'ī (fol. 1/29)—and al-Harawī in Dhamm al-Kalām (1/4/1). All of them transmitted it by way of Ibrāhīm ibn Sa'd ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Abd al-Rahmān ibn Awf, who said: My father narrated to us, from al-Qāsim ibn Muhammad, from 'Ā'isha, who said: The Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—said it, and he then quoted the hadith. Al-Shāfi'ī, however, used “in it” instead of “from it.”
Abd Allāh ibn Ja'far al-Zuhrī corroborated him, narrating it from Sa'd ibn Ibrāhīm, from al-Qāsim ibn Muhammad, with the wording: “Whoever performs a deed that is not in accordance with our matter will have it rejected.”
It was narrated by Muslim, Abū Dāwūd, al-Dāraqutnī, and Ahmad (73/6).
6 — (Adī ibn Hātim came to the Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—having professed Christianity before Islam. When he heard the Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—recite this verse, he said, “O Messenger of Allah! They did not worship them.” He replied: “Indeed they did. They forbade them what was lawful and permitted them what was forbidden, and they followed them. That was how they worshipped them.” Al-Tirmidhī and others narrated it, and he graded it good.
