Ghayat al-Maram fi Takhrij Ahadith al-Halal wa-l-HaramNasir al-Din al-Albani

As for al-Bukhārī, he recorded only the hadith of Abū Hurayra (4/50), traced back to the Prophet, with the wording:

“Allah has not sent down any disease without also sending down a cure for it.”

Al-Hākim narrated a similar report from him through another route (4/400).

There is also, on this subject, the report of Abū al-Zubayr from Jābir, traced back to the Prophet:

“Every disease has a remedy. When the right remedy is found for a disease, it is cured by the permission of Allah, Mighty and Majestic.”

Muslim recorded it (7/21), as did al-Hākim (4/401), who mistakenly treated it as a report omitted by Muslim. Al-Dhahabī concurred with him. Ahmad also recorded it (3/335).

Usāma ibn Sharīk also reported from the Prophet:

“Seek treatment, for Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has not created any disease without also creating its remedy, except one disease: old age.”

Another narration adds: “Those who know it know it, and those unaware of it remain unaware.”

It was recorded by al-Bukhārī in al-Adab al-Mufrad (291), Abū Dāwūd (3855), al-Tirmidhī (2/3), Ibn Mājah (3436), Ibn Hibbān (1395), al-Hākim (4/198–199, 399–400), al-Tayālisī (1232), al-Humaydī (824), and Ahmad (4/278); the additional wording occurs in one of Ahmad’s narrations.

Al-Bukhārī also included the following at its beginning, as did Ibn Mājah and Ahmad:

“Servants of Allah, Allah has removed all blame, except from a man who wrongfully impugns another man’s honor; such a man incurs sin and perishes.”

It also appears as a separate report in Abū Dāwūd (2015) and al-Khatīb (9/197–198), and al-Hākim declared it authentic.

Ibn Masūd also reported from the Prophet a narration similar to the preceding one, including the additional wording. It was recorded by Ibn Hibbān (1394), al-Hākim (4/196–197, 399), al-Tayālisī (368)—without the additional wording (1)—al-Humaydī (90), and Ahmad (1/377, 413, 443, 446, 453). Al-Hākim said, “Its chain is authentic.” Al-Dhahabī concurred with him, and it is as they both said. Al-Hāfiz also graded its chain good in Badhl al-Māūn fī Fadl al-Tāūn (1/15).

(1) In al-Tayālisī’s version, it is transmitted through al-Masūdī, from Qays ibn Muslim, from Tāriq ibn Shihāb, from Abd Allāh. Ahmad also recorded it (4/315) through Yazīd ibn Abī Khālid, from Qays ibn Muslim, from Tāriq ibn Shihāb, as a report traced back to the Prophet, without mentioning Abd Allāh in its chain. Both al-Tayālisī and Ahmad add: “You should drink cow’s milk, for cows browse on every kind of tree.” This is an authentic addition, which I documented as no. 518 in *al-Silsila*.
