202 – (Another hadith states: “Do not prevent the female servants of Allah from attending the mosques of Allah.” Narrated by Muslim.) p. 163
Authentic. This is a version narrated by Muslim through Nāfi‘, from Ibn ‘Umar, who reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said it. Ahmad also narrated it (16/2, 36).
203 – Nabhān, the client of Umm Salamah, narrated that when Ibn Umm Maktūm entered upon her, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to her and Maymūnah, “Screen yourselves from him.” They replied, “He is blind.” He said, “Are you two blind? Can you not see him?” However, critical scholars have stated that this hadith is not authentic according to the scholars of transmission, because its narrator from Umm Salamah was her client Nabhān, whose hadith is not accepted as proof. p. 163
Weak. Its sources are documented in Irwā’ al-Ghalīl (1806).
204 – (The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, instructed Fātimah bint Qays to observe her waiting period in the home of Umm Sharīk. He then reconsidered and said, “She is a woman whom my Companions frequently visit. Observe your waiting period at the home of Ibn Umm Maktūm, for he is a blind man; you may lay aside your garments and he will not see you.” See al-Qurtubī’s Tafsīr, vol. 12, p. 228. p. 164)
Authentic. Mālik narrated it (2/580), and through him Muslim (4/195), as did Abū Dāwūd (2277), al-Nasā’ī (2/74–75), and Ahmad (6/412), all from Mālik, from ‘Abdullāh ibn Yazīd, the client of al-Aswad ibn Sufyān, from Abū Salamah ibn ‘Abd al-Rahmān, from Fātimah bint Qays, with this wording, except for the words, “and he will not see you.” The same meaning appears in Muslim (4/196) through another chain from Abū Salamah, worded: “For when you remove your head covering, he will not see you.” Muslim also narrates it through another chain (4/197) with the same meaning.
205 – (The two Shaykhs and others narrated from Sahl ibn Sa‘d al-Ansārī
