I say: This is a general statement encompassing every image-maker, including one who paints pictures by hand and one who produces images with a camera, for all of them are called “image-makers” both linguistically and by common usage.
166—(Among his wise sayings, we hear these hadiths: “The truthful, trustworthy merchant will be with the martyrs on the Day of Resurrection.” Narrated by Ibn Mājah and al-Hākim, who declared it authentic.) p. 134
Weak. Ibn Mājah (2139), al-Dāraqutnī (291), al-Hākim (6/2), and al-Bayhaqī (5/266) transmitted it through Kulthūm ibn Jawshan al-Qushayrī, from Ayyūb, from Nāfi, from Ibn Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said—and he quoted the hadith. Al-Hākim said, “Kulthūm narrated few hadiths.” Al-Dhahabī rebutted him, saying, “Abū Hātim deemed him weak.” Abū Hātim’s son said in al-Ilal (1/386/1156):

167—(Another of his sayings is: “The truthful, trustworthy merchant will be with the prophets, the steadfast affirmers of truth, and the martyrs.” Narrated by al-Hākim and al-Tirmidhī with a sound chain of transmission.) p. 134
Weak. Al-Tirmidhī (1/228), al-Dārimī (2/247), al-Dāraqutnī (291), and al-Hākim (6/2) transmitted it from al-Hasan, from Abū Saīd al-Khudrī, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Al-Tirmidhī said, “We know this hadith only through this chain.” It is weak, as al-Hākim himself explained when he said:
“This is one of al-Hasan’s mursal reports,” meaning that its chain is disconnected between al-Hasan—namely, al-Basrī—and Abū
