Had they performed it with the number set by the Sunnah, within the same span of time in which they now pray twenty rakaʿahs, their prayer would be sound and accepted by unanimous agreement of the scholars. This is confirmed by the hadith of Jabir: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, “Which prayer is best?” He replied, “Prolonged standing.” Therefore, O Muslims, adhere to his ﷺ Sunnah, hold fast to it and bite onto it with your molars, for “the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad.” ﷺ ⦗47⦘
