Jihad will continue under the leadership of the imam until the Day of Resurrection—whether he is righteous or sinful—and it must never be abandoned.

The distribution of the fay’ (state booty) and the establishment of the ḥudūd (prescribed penalties) are entrusted to the imams; this authority endures, and no one has the right to revile or dispute them about it.
