• 36 Chapter: Evidence That the Speech of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, Is Uncreated

36 – Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Mansūr informed us; Ismāʿīl ibn Muhammad narrated to us. [Another chain:] Muhammad ibn ʿAbd ibn ʿAbduh informed us; al-Idrīsī narrated to us. Both said: Abū Muslim narrated to us; ʿĀsim narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Rifāʿah, from Suhayl.

[Another chain:] Al-ʿAzīz al-Mukhtār informed me; Suhayl narrated to us.

[Another chain:] The judge Abū Mansūr narrated to us; Hārūn ibn Ahmad narrated to us; ʿAlī ibn al-ʿAbbās al-Nahlī narrated to us; Ibrāhīm ibn Yūsuf al-Hadramī narrated to us.

[Another chain:] Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Jārūdī narrated to us by dictation; Muhammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Qurashī narrated to us; Muhammad ibn Sālih narrated to us; Ismāʿīl ibn Bahrām Jārkrr al-Kilānī al-Kūfī narrated to us. Both said: Al-Ashjaʿī narrated to us, from Sufyān al-Thawrī, from Suhayl ibn Abī Sālih, from his father, from Abū Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:

“Whoever says when the sun sets, ‘I seek refuge in the words of Allah
