(26) Chapter: Affirming Fingers for Allah, Mighty and Majestic

26 - Hamdayn ibn Ahmad ibn Hamdayn informed us: Hārūn ibn Ahmad informed us: Abū Khalīfah informed us: Musaddad narrated to us, from Hammād, from Yūnus, Hishām, and al-Muʿallā—that is, Ibn Ziyād—from al-Hasan, who reported that ʿĀʾishah—may Allah be pleased with her—said:

“The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, would frequently make this supplication: ‘O Turner of hearts, keep my heart steadfast in Your religion.’”

ʿĀʾishah—may Allah be pleased with her—said: “O Messenger of Allah, I see that you often make this supplication.”

He said: “There is no human being whose heart is not between two of the Fingers of the Most Merciful, Mighty and Majestic. If He wills to make it upright, He makes it upright, and if He wills to cause it to deviate, He causes it to deviate.”

- (٢٦) بَابُ إِثْبَاتِ الْأَصَابِعِ لِلَّهِ ﷿ ٢٦ - أَخْبَرَنَا حَمْدَيْنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَمْدَيْنَ أَنْبَأَ هَارُونُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ وَهِشَام والمعلي هُوَ ابْن زِيَاد عَنِ الْحَسَنِ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ ﵂ قَالَتْ دَعْوَةٌ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُكْثِرُ أَنْ يَدْعُوَ بِهَا (يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ) قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ ﵂ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ دَعْوَة أَرَاك تكْثر أَن تدعوا بِهَا قَالَ مَا مِنْ آدَمِيٌّ إِلَّا وَقَلبه بني أُصْبُعَيْنِ مِنْ أَصَابِعِ الرَّحْمَنِ ﷿ فَإِذَا شَاءَ أَنْ يُقِيمَهُ أَقَامَهُ وَإِذَا شَاءَ أَنْ يُزِيغَهُ اذاغه)
