- (25) Chapter: Allah Taking the Believer’s Charity with His Hand
25 - Tāhir ibn Muhammad ibn ʿAlī informed us: Hāmid ibn Muhammad informed us: ʿAlī ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz informed us: Abū Nuʿaym narrated to us: Sufyān informed us, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Sāʾib, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Qatādah al-Muhāribī, who said: I heard ʿAbd Allāh ibn Masʿūd—may Allah be pleased with him—say:
“Charity reaches the Hand of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, before it reaches the hand of the person asking for it.”
Then ʿAbd Allāh recited.
Sālih ibn Wasīf al-Kinānī informed us: Ahmad ibn Mulāʿib narrated to us, saying: ʿAbd al-Samad—that is, Ibn al-Nuʿmān—narrated to me: ʿAbd al-Malik ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, from ʿĀsim ibn ʿUbayd Allāh, from al-Qāsim ibn Muhammad, from ʿĀʾishah—may Allah be pleased with her—who reported the same from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
