al-ʿĀl informed us: Muhammad ibn ʿAlī, the hadith master, narrated to us in Isfarāyīn: ʿAbd al-Rahmān ibn Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn al-Hajjāj ibn Rāshid ibn Saʿd narrated to us in Egypt: Ahmad ibn ʿAmr ibn al-Sarh narrated to us: My maternal uncle, ʿAbd al-Rahmān ibn ʿAbd al-Hamīd al-Mahrī, Abū al-Rajāʾ al-Misrī, narrated to us: Yahyā ibn Ayyūb narrated to us, from Dāwūd ibn Abī Hind, from Anas ibn Mālik—may Allah be pleased with him—that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:

“Indeed, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, created al-Firdaws with His Hand and has forbidden it to every polytheist and every inveterate drunkard.”
