- (20) Chapter: Affirming Hearing and Sight for Allah (Mighty and Majestic is He)
20 – Imam Yahyā ibn ʿAmmār informed us: Ibn Sabbāh informed us: Ishāq narrated to us. h (change of chain)
And Ibn al-Fadl, the ascetic, informed us: Muhammad ibn al-Fadl ibn Muhammad ibn Ishāq ibn Khuzaymah informed us, saying: My grandfather informed us. They both said: Ibn al-Muqriʾ narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to us: Harmalah ibn ʿImrān narrated to us, saying: Abū Yūnus Sulaym ibn Jubayr told me: I heard Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) recite this verse:
“Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due,”
up to His words (Exalted is He):
“Indeed, Allah is ever Hearing and Seeing.”
He placed his thumb on his ear and the finger next to it on his eyes
- (٢٠) بَابُ إِثْبَاتِ السَّمْعِ وَالْبَصَرِ لِلَّهِ ﷿
٢٠ - أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عمار الامام أَنا ابْن صباح ثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ ح
وَأَنْبَأَ ابْنُ الْفَضْلِ الزَّاهِدُ أَنْبَأَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ أَنْبَأَ جَدِّي قَالَا ثَنَا ابْن الْمقري ثَنَا أَبِي ثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو يُونُسَ سُلَيْمُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ﵁ يَقْرَأُ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ (إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَنْ تُؤَدُّوا الأَمَانَاتِ إِلَى أَهْلِهَا) إِلَى قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى (إِنَّ الله كَانَ سميعا بَصيرًا) وَوَضَعَ إِبْهَامَهُ عَلَى أُذُنِهِ وَالَّتِي تَلِيهَا عَلَى عَيْنَيْهِ
