The Obligation to Emigrate to Allah

Abu Hanifah—may Allah have mercy on him—said: “Hammad ibn Ibrahim narrated to us from Ibn Mas‘ud, may Allah be pleased with him, who reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘When acts of disobedience become rampant in a land and you are unable to change them, then leave that land for another and there worship your Lord.’”

He also said: “One of the scholars told me, on the authority of a Companion of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), that whoever moves from a land in which he fears fitnah (trial and temptation) to a land in which he does not fear it, Allah records for him the reward of seventy ṣiddīqs (most truthful saints).”
