Rather, He chastises them in the Fire for their offenses, and He will deliver them from it because of their faith.

Abū Ḥanīfah—may Allah have mercy on him—said: “Whoever believes in everything a Muslim is required to believe yet says, ‘I do not know whether Moses and Jesus were actually sent as messengers or not,’ is a disbeliever. Likewise, whoever says, ‘I do not know whether the disbeliever will end up in Paradise or in the Fire,’ is himself a disbeliever, for the Almighty has proclaimed:

‘As for those who disbelieve, the Fire of Hell awaits them; it shall not be finished with them so that they die…’ (Qur’an 35:36),

and He said, ‘…and for them is the torment of burning’ (Qur’an 59:3),

and He said, ‘…and for them is a severe punishment’ (Qur’an 3:77).”
