49 – Ahmad also narrated to us, saying: Abū Muhammad narrated to me, saying: Muhammad ibn Abd Allah al-Zarrād narrated to us, saying:
“Hassān ibn Abī Sinān would sometimes purchase all the members of a man’s household and his dependents, then emancipate them all without ever making himself known to them or telling them who he was.”
50 – Ahmad ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to us: Shabāba ibn Sawwār narrated to me, saying: Abū al-Tayyib Mūsā ibn Yasār informed me, saying:
“I accompanied Muhammad ibn Wāsi from Mecca to Basra. He would spend the entire night praying while seated in the litter, gesturing with his head. He would instruct the camel driver to remain behind him and raise his voice so that no one would notice what he was doing.”
[49] Ahmad is Ahmad ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Kathīr, and Abū Muhammad is Abd Allāh ibn Īsā; both were mentioned in the preceding report.
I found no biographical entry for Muhammad ibn Abd Allāh al-Zarrād.
[50] Shabāba ibn Sawwār al-Fazārī, their client, was Abū Amr al-Madā’inī. Originally from Khurāsān, he was a trustworthy hadith master, though accused of *irjā’* (Murji’ite doctrine). He died in 204, 205, or 206 AH. *Tahdhīb al-Kamāl*, 12/343; *Taqrīb al-Tahdhīb*, p. 263.
Mūsā ibn Yasār, Abū al-Tayyib al-Marwazī, settled in al-Madā’in. Ibn Ma‘īn declared him trustworthy. *Tārīkh Baghdād*, 13/20.
٤٩ - وحدثنا أحمد قال : حدثني أبو محمد قال : حدثنا محمد بنُ عبد الله الزراد
قال :
ربّما اشترى حسانُ بن أبي سِنان أهلَ بيتِ الرجلِ وعيالَه ، ثم يعتقُهم جميعاً ، ثم لا يَتعرَّفُ إليهم ، ولا يُعلِمُهم مَنْ هُو .
٥٠ - حدثنا أحمد بن إبراهيم ، حدثني شَبابة بنُ سَوّار قال : أخبرني أبو الطَّيِّب موسى بنُ يسار قال :
صَحِبتُ محمّدَ بنَ واسع من مكة إلى البصرة فكان الليلَ أجمعَ يصلِّي في المحملِ جالساً يومىء برأسه إيماءً ، وكان يأمرُ الحادي أن يكونَ خلفه ويرفعَ صوتَه حتى لا يفطنَ له .
[ ٤٩ ] - أحمد : هو ابن إبراهيم بن كثير ، وأبو محمد : هو عبد الله بن عيسى ، سبق ذكرهما في الخبر السابق .
محمد بن عبد الله الزراد ؛ لم أجد له ترجمة .
[ ٥٠ ] - شبابة بن سَوَّار الفَزَاريّ ، مولاهم ، أبوعمرو المدائني ، أصله من خُراسان ، ثقة حافظ رُمي بالإرجاء ، مات سنة أربع أو خمس أو ست ومئتين ؛ « تهذيب الكمال » ١٢ / ٣٤٣ ، و« تقريب التهذيب » : ٢٦٣ .
موسى بن يسار ، أبو الطيب المروزي ، سكن المدائن ، قال ابن معين : ثقة « تاريخ بغداد » ١٣ / ٢٠ .
