[5] Sufyān ibn Wakī ibn al-Jarrāh al-Ru'āsī al-Kūfī was truthful, but he was afflicted by an unscrupulous copyist who inserted material into his transmissions that was not his. He was advised to take corrective action but refused, so his hadith was discredited. See *Tahdhīb al-Kamāl*, vol. 11, p. 200; and *Taqrīb al-Tahdhīb*, p. 245.
Ibn Uyayna is Sufyān, the eminent, trustworthy hadith master. He died in 198 AH at the age of ninety-one. See *Taqrīb al-Tahdhīb*, p. 245.
Atā ibn al-Sāib al-Thaqafī al-Kūfī, Abū Muhammad, was truthful, but his memory later deteriorated. He died in 136 AH. See *Taqrīb al-Tahdhīb*, p. 391.
[6] Muhammad ibn al-Husayn was al-Burjulānī, a compiler of narratives and devotional accounts. Ibn Hibbān deemed him trustworthy. See *Lisān al-Mīzān*, vol. 5, p. 137.
Khalaf ibn Tamīm, Abū Abd al-Rahmān al-Kūfī, was a truthful and devout worshipper. He died in Damascus and was buried in the Bāb al-Saghīr cemetery in 213 AH. See *Tahdhīb al-Kamāl*, vol. 8, p. 276.
Abū Ishāq was al-Sabī'ī, Amr ibn Abd Allāh al-Hamdānī. He was a trustworthy and devout worshipper, though his memory deteriorated late in life. He died in 129 AH, or possibly earlier. See *Taqrīb al-Tahdhīb*, vol. 2, p. 73.
Abd Khayr ibn Yazīd al-Hamdānī, Abū Umāra al-Kūfī, was a *tābi'ī* (Successor) who had lived during the pre-Islamic period. See *Tahdhīb al-Tahdhīb*, vol. 6, p. 124.
(1) The author also transmitted it in his book *al-Taqwā*, as cited in *al-Durr al-Manthūr*, vol. 1, p. 274, in connection with the words of Allah Most High: “Allah accepts only from the God-fearing” [al-Mā'idah 5:27].
