5—I appended two supplements to the book. The first was drawn from Jāmi al-Ulūm wa-al-Hikam fī Sharh Khamsīn Hadīthan min Jawāmi al-Kalim, by the hadith master Ibn Rajab al-Hanbalī, and the second from Ithāf al-Sādah al-Muttaqīn bi-Sharh Ihyā Ulūm al-Dīn, by the eminent scholar al-Sayyid Muhammad Murtadā al-Zabīdī. In these two works, I found texts transmitted from the book Sincerity that do not appear in the original manuscript. They may represent additions found in the recensions through which those scholars received the book.
6—I prepared scholarly indexes for the book.
If there is anything in my work worthy of approval, it is by the grace of my Lord; if not, it is due to my own shortcomings and inadequacy.
Finally, since the noble prophetic saying states, “Whoever does not thank people has not thanked Allah,” I am duty-bound to thank the Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai for its invaluable role in bringing this book to light, making it widely available, and including it among its publications.
I ask Allah, Glorious and Exalted, to grant us success in attaining His pleasure and to make us among those whose intentions are sincere and whose deeds are correct. Upon Him we rely, and through Him comes success.
