55 – … Sahl, the freedman of al-Mughīra, narrated from Ibn Shihāb, from ʿUrwa, from ʿĀʾisha, who said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) entered upon me while I was reciting these two lines of verse to myself:⦗54⦘
Raise up your weak one; let not his weakness burden you—
a day may come when consequences have fully grown.
He will repay you or extol you, and whoever
praises you for what you have done has indeed repaid you.
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) then said, ‘Refute the words of that Jew—may Allah fight him. Gabriel has just come to me with a message from my Lord: Whoever does a favor for his brother and finds no recompense for it except supplication and praise has already repaid him.’”
٥٥ - .. . سَهْلٌ مَوْلَى الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ [وَأَنَا أَتَمَثَّلُ بِهَذَيْنِ الْبَيْتَيْنِ]

ارْفَعْ ضَعِيفَكَ لَا يَحِرْ بِكَ ضَعْفُهُ ... يَوْمًا فَتُدْرِكْهُ الْعَوَاقِبُ قَدْ نَمَا
يَجْزِيكَ أَوْ يُثْنِي عَلَيْكَ وَإِنَّ مَنْ ... أَثْنَى عَلَيْكَ بِمَا فَعَلْتَ فَقَدْ جَزَى
[فَقَالَ] رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ رُدِّي عَلَى قَوْلِ الْيَهُودِيِّ قَاتَلَهُ اللَّهُ لَقَدْ جَاءَنِي جِبْرِيلُ .. . بِرِسَالَةٍ مِنْ رَبِّي ﷿ أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ صَنَعَ إِلَى أَخِيهِ صَنِيعَةً فَلَمْ يَجِدْ [لَهَا] جَزَاءً إِلَّا الدُّعَاءَ وَالثَّنَاءَ فقد كافأه.
