175 – [ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: Abū Bakr al-Shaybānī ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿAffān narrated to us; Shuʿayb ibn Ḥarb narrated to us, from Muḥammad ibn Mujīb, from Jaʿfar ibn Muḥammad, from his father, from his grandfather, in a report traced back to the Prophet ﷺ] who said:

“No believer brings happiness to another believer without Allah creating from that very happiness an angel who worships Him, praises Him, and proclaims His oneness. When that believer is laid in his grave, the happiness he once inspired comes to him and says, ‘Do you not recognise me?’ He will ask, ‘Who are you?’ It will answer, ‘I am the joy you brought to so-and-so. Today I will dispel your loneliness, prompt you with your proof, keep you firm with the steadfast word, testify on your behalf at the Scene of Resurrection, intercede for you with your Lord, and show you your dwelling in Paradise.’”
