Chapter: Granting Respite to the Insolvent
156 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: Abū al-Khaṭṭāb Ziyād ibn Yaḥyā al-Baṣrī narrated to us; he said: Mālik ibn Suʿayr narrated to us, from al-Aʿmash, from Abū Ṣāliḥ, from Abū Hurayrah who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever conceals a Muslim’s fault, Allah will conceal his faults in this world and the Hereafter. Whoever facilitates matters for a Muslim, Allah will facilitate matters for him in this world and the Hereafter. Allah, exalted is He, remains in the servant’s aid so long as the servant is in his brother’s aid. Whoever is slowed by his deeds, his lineage will not hasten him forward. Whoever relieves a Muslim of a distress, Allah will relieve him of one of the distresses of the Day of Resurrection. And whoever pardons a Muslim, Allah will pardon his slip on the Day of Resurrection.”
