99 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: Ibrāhīm ibn Hānīʾ narrated to us; he said: Nuʿaym ibn Ḥammād narrated to us; he said: Ḍumrah narrated from Rajāʾ ibn Abī Salamah, from ʿAṭāʾ al-Khurāsānī, who said:

“Presenting one’s needs to the young is more readily met than presenting them to the old. Do you not see that Joseph (peace be upon him) said to his brothers, ‘No reproach will there be upon you today’ [Q 12:92], whereas Jacob (peace be upon him) said, ‘I shall seek forgiveness for you from my Lord’ [Q 12:98]?”
