to those who offered them sincere counsel—so he proclaimed: “Indeed I am Allah’s messenger to you, confirming what lies before me of the Torah and bringing the glad tidings of a messenger who will come after me, whose name is Aḥmad. Yet when he came to them with clear proofs, they said, ‘This is manifest sorcery.’” ⦗Q 61:6⦘.
By Allah, the Messiah gave a call so resounding that it was heard (1) by the nomad and the town-dweller alike. The believing affirmer answered him, and Allah’s proof was thereby established against the stubborn disbeliever. Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar—exalted is He above what the falsifiers say about Him, what the liars describe Him with, and what the fabricators and deniers attribute to Him.
He then declared: “I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, without partner, equal, or peer; He has no consort and no child (2). Rather, He is the One, the Eternal Refuge, who begets not, nor is He begotten, and there is none comparable unto Him.”
Next he raised his voice to testify on behalf of his brother, the one most closely linked to him: that he is the servant and messenger of Allah, the archon (3) of the world, the Spirit of truth who does not speak on his own initiative but only conveys what is said to him; that he informs people of everything Allah has prepared for them, governs them with justice, tells them of the unseen, brings them the proper interpretation (4), rebukes the world for sin, rescues them from Satan’s grasp, and that his law and authority will endure until the end of time. In that call he stated his name, description, attributes, and conduct so plainly that it was as though they could see him with their own eyes (5).
He then announced: “Come to prayer behind the leader of the messengers and the master of Adam’s children.”
