The Relationship of Islam to Other Religions:
We have already learned that, in its universal sense, Islam is the faith of all the prophets, peace be upon them. When we take the word Islam in this sweeping meaning, there is really no room to ask about the relationship between Islam and the other divinely revealed religions; one does not inquire about the relationship of a thing to itself, for here there is perfect unity, with no division and no duality.
The question, then, concerns Islam in its particular sense—the religion that God, exalted is He, revealed to Muhammad ﷺ—namely, the relationship of the Muhammadan dispensation to the Mosaic and the Christian.
To answer this question, the inquiry should be divided into two stages.(2)
Stage One: the relationship of the Muhammadan law to the earlier heavenly laws while they were still in their original form, before they had strayed from their source and before anything in them had been altered by the passage of time or by human hands.
