that Moses and Muhammad were gods; rather, what is meant is the coming of His religion, His scripture, His law, His guidance, and His light.
As for the phrase, “He will bare His holy arm before all the scattered nations,” something identical appears in the Torah, and in other passages the wording is even more emphatic.
With respect to the words, “All the inhabitants of the earth shall behold (1) the salvation of God, for He will walk with them and before them,” the fifth book of the Torah addressed to the Children of Israel states: “Do not be terrified of them or fear them, for the LORD your God who goes before you is the One fighting on your behalf.” (2)
In another place Moses said, “This nation is Your people.” The Lord replied, “I shall go before you.” Moses then said, “If (3) You do not go before us, do not lead us up from here. For how shall I and Your people know that I have found favor unless You journey with us?” (4)
And in the fourth book it says: “By Your power (5) I have brought these people up, and they will say to the inhabitants of this land who have heard of You, ‘God is in the midst of this people; they see Him eye to eye. Your cloud overshadows (6) them; it returns as a cloud that travels before them by day and as fire by night.’” (7)
