And this is analogous to his statement in another place: “It is better for you that I depart, for the Paraclete will not come to you unless I go.” He also said: “The Son of Man is going, and after him the Paraclete,” and elsewhere: “I am going, and the Paraclete will come to you.” The Paraclete—the Blessed One who came after the Messiah—is Muḥammad ﷺ, as has already been demonstrated.
Thirty-Fourth Aspect. He says in the Gospel of Matthew: “When John son of Zechariah was imprisoned, he sent his disciples to the Messiah and said to them, ‘Say to him: Are you El, or should we expect another?’ The Messiah replied: Truly and certainly I tell you, among those born of women there has never arisen anyone greater than John son of Zechariah. The Torah and the Books of the Prophets followed one another in prophecy and revelation until John came; but now, if you wish, accept (1) that El is about to come. Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear.” (2)
This is a proclamation of the coming of God, exalted be He—“El” being the Hebrew term for God. His coming is the coming of His Messenger, His Book, and His religion, as the Torah states: “God came from Mount Sinai.” Some worshippers of the cross have claimed that the prophecy concerns the prophet Elijah. Such ignorance is hardly surprising from a misguided nation that reveres a wooden cross fashioned by Jewish hands, for Elijah had been sent ages before the Messiah.
