falsehood. So I set Nebuchadnezzar over them: he slew their men, carried off their children, demolished their temple, and burned their scriptures. Those who come after him will treat them the same way, for I am not pleased with them, nor will I overlook their missteps. They shall remain under My wrath until I send My Messiah, the son of the chaste Virgin; then I will seal them with curse and anger, and they will stay accursed, burdened with abasement and destitution, until I raise up the Prophet from the Children of Ishmael—the one about whom Hagar was given glad tidings when I sent My angel to announce them to her.
I will reveal to that prophet, teach him the names, adorn him with piety; I shall make righteousness his emblem, God-consciousness his inner state, truthfulness his speech, loyalty his nature, moderation his conduct, and guidance his sunnah. I shall single him out with a Book that confirms the Scriptures before it while abrogating some of what they contain. I will take him on a night journey to Me, raising him from heaven to heaven until he ascends; I will draw him near, greet him with peace, disclose revelation to him, elevate him yet further, and then return him to My servants filled with joy and gladness—guarding what he is entrusted with, fearlessly proclaiming what he is commanded.
He will call people to affirm My oneness with gentle words and fair exhortation—neither harsh nor hard-hearted, nor one who shouts in the marketplaces—kind to those who support him, merciful to those who believe in him, and stern toward those who oppose him. He will summon his people to My oneness and worship, and convey to them what he has witnessed of My signs, yet they will deny him and harm him." (1)
Daniel then recounted the whole story of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, just as the angel had dictated to him, all the way to the final days of his community, the Trumpet Blast, and the end of the world. (2)
This prophecy is also in the possession of the Jews and the Christians; they read it, acknowledge it, and say that its subject has not yet appeared.
