Abraham, and the glad tidings (1) of Jesus.” (2)
Set this beside the other annunciations the Messiah related. Who, then, has attained mastery over the world, both inwardly and outwardly? To whom have hearts and bodies submitted? Who has been obeyed in private and in public, during his lifetime and after his death, in every age and in the finest regions and lands? Whose summons has coursed across the earth like the path of the sun, whose religion has spread wherever night and day reach? Before whose arrival did nations fall upon their faces? Through whom were idols abolished, the summons of the All-Merciful established, and the call of Satan extinguished? Who humbled the unbelievers and deniers, honored the believers, brought the truth, and confirmed the messengers? Who proclaimed tawḥīd (monotheism) openly before all onlookers, so that Allah alone—without partner—was worshipped in every settlement and desert? Through whom was the earth filled with praise and magnification (3) of Allah, with the declaration of His oneness and His glorification, and—after oppression and darkness—clothed in justice and light?
Now compare the Messiah’s saying, “The Arkon of the world will come to you,” with the words of his brother Muhammad ﷺ: “I am the master of the children of Adam, without boasting. Adam and everyone after him are under my banner. I shall be the orator of the prophets when they arrive, their leader when they gather, and the bearer of glad tidings for them when they despair. The banner of praise is in my hand, and I am the most honored child of Adam before my Lord.” (4)
