Hidāyat al-ḤayārāIbn al-Qayyim

has no share in the affair alongside Him. He then ended the proclamation by declaring that the kingdom of God would be taken from those who rejected him and handed over to his followers and the believers in him, so that whoever perished would perish upon clear proof and whoever lived would live upon clear proof. The true disciples of the Messiah responded to this call, whereas the unbelievers and deniers refused it. Concerning this Allah the Exalted said:

“When Allah said, ‘O Jesus, I will take you and raise you to Myself, purify you from those who disbelieve, and place those who follow you above those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me you will all return, and I will judge between you regarding that over which you used to differ.’” (Qur’an 3:55)

This is a glad tiding that the Muslims will remain superior to the Christians until the Day of Resurrection, for the Muslims are in reality the followers of the messengers, the followers of all the prophets, not their enemies. His real enemies are the worshippers of the cross who were content to regard him as a god who was slapped, crucified, and killed, yet would not accept him as a prophet, a servant of Allah, held in honor and brought near to Him. These, then, are truly his enemies, whereas the Muslims are truly his followers.

The point is that the Messiah’s announcement of the coming of the Prophet ﷺ surpasses every other annunciation, because he was the prophet closest to him in time and most closely related to him, and no prophet—no messenger bearing an independent law and scripture—came between them. (1)

Section

Consider the Messiah’s words: “The Arkon of the world will come.” The “Arkon of the world” means the lord and greatest one of the world—and who, after the Messiah, rose to mastery over the world and was obeyed throughout it if not the Prophet ﷺ?

Also reflect on the Prophet’s own statement—when he was asked about the beginning of his mission, he said—“I am the supplication of my father…"
