For this reason the Qur’an gives a detailed exposition of the Hereafter, of the Garden and the Fire, and of events yet to unfold—matters set out nowhere in such fullness in either the Torah or the Gospel. In this lies the confirmation of Christ’s statement that the Paraclete “will tell you of all that is to come,” a testimony to the truthfulness of both Christ and Muhammad ﷺ.
This is what the Almighty means when He says: “Indeed, whenever it was said to them, ‘There is no god but Allah,’ they grew arrogant and said, ‘Shall we really abandon our gods for a mad poet?’ No indeed; he has come with the truth and has confirmed the messengers.” ⦗As-Saffat 37:35–37⦘. His very coming is a vindication of the messengers before him, for they had foretold his advent; he arrived exactly as they had promised. Thus his appearance (1) verified them, and he then bore witness to their veracity, affirming them both by word and by his presence.
Allah sent Muhammad ﷺ on the eve of the Hour, as he said: “I and the Hour have been sent like these two,” and he held up his index and middle fingers. (2)
Whenever he spoke of the Hour his voice would rise, his face would redden, and his anger would intensify. He also said, “I am the naked warner.” (3)
Accordingly, he informed people of future events on a scale unmatched by any other prophet, just as Christ had described him: “He will tell you of all that is to come.”
