“I(1) am going away, yet the Paraclete, the Spirit of truth, will come to you. He will not speak on his own authority; rather, he will say only what he is commanded. He will bear witness to me, and you too will bear witness, for you have been with me from the beginning before all people. He will inform you of everything that God has prepared for you.”(2)
In the Gospel of John it is also said: “The Paraclete(3) will not come to you unless I depart; but when he comes he will rebuke the world for its sin. He will not speak from himself, but only what he hears. He will speak to you, guide you with the truth, and tell you of future events and hidden matters.”(4)
Elsewhere it says: “The Paraclete, the Spirit of truth, whom my Father will send in my name, will teach you all things.”(5)
In another passage: “I will ask Him to send you another Paraclete to be with you forever, and he will teach you everything.”(6)
And in yet another place: “The Son of Man is going, and after him the Paraclete will come to you with the secrets, clarifying everything. He will bear witness to me just as I bore witness to him; for I have brought you parables, whereas he will bring you their interpretation.”(7)
