(71) “Allah has favored some of you over others in provision. Yet those who have been favored would never turn over their provision to those whom their right hands possess, so that they would be equal in it. Will they then deny Allah’s blessing?”

This is one of the proofs of His oneness and of the ugliness of associating partners with Him. Allah Most High says: Although you all share the fact that you were created and provided for, He “has favored some of you over others in provision.” Thus, some of you are free people who possess wealth and riches, while others are slaves belonging to them who possess nothing of this world. Just as the masters whom Allah has favored over them in provision “would never turn over their provision to those whom their right hands possess, so that they would be equal in it,” and regard this as inconceivable, so too those whom you associate with Allah are mere slaves who possess not even an atom’s weight of dominion. How, then, can you make them partners with Allah Most High?!

Could there be any greater injustice or denial of Allah’s blessings than this?! Hence He says: “Will they then deny Allah’s blessing?” Had they acknowledged the blessing and attributed it to the One who bestowed it, they would not have associated anyone with Him.
