[23–25] “Indeed, it is We alone who give life and cause death, and We are the inheritors. We certainly know those of you who have gone before, and We certainly know those who will come later. Surely your Lord will gather them together. Indeed, He is All-Wise, All-Knowing.”
That is, He alone, without partner, gives life to creation from nothing, after they had not been anything worth mentioning, and causes them to die at the appointed times He has decreed for them. “And We are the inheritors,” as in His words: “Indeed, it is We who will inherit the earth and all who are upon it, and to Us they will be returned.” This is neither difficult nor impossible for Allah. Exalted is He: He knows those of creation who have gone before and those who will come later; He knows what the earth consumes of them and where the parts of their bodies have dispersed. His power cannot be thwarted by anyone: He will recreate His servants anew and gather them to Himself.
