Tafsir al-SadiAbd al-Rahman al-Sadi’

(24–26) “Have you not seen how Allah sets forth a parable: a good word is like a good tree, whose root is firmly fixed and whose branches reach into the sky?”

Allah Most High says: “Have you not seen how Allah sets forth a parable: a good word”—namely, the testimony that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, together with its branches—“is like a good tree,” namely, the date palm. “Its root is firmly fixed” in the earth, “and its branches” spread “into the sky.” It is always of abundant benefit.
