(5–8) “Indeed, We sent Moses with Our signs, saying, ‘Bring your people out of darkness into light, and remind them of the Days of Allah. Surely in this are signs for everyone who is steadfastly patient and deeply grateful.’”
The Most High informs us that He sent Moses with His mighty signs, which demonstrated the truth and soundness of what he brought. He gave Moses the same charge that Allah gave His Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)—indeed, the same charge that all the messengers conveyed to their peoples: “Bring your people out of darkness into light”; that is, from the darkness of ignorance and disbelief and all that stems from them, into the light of knowledge and faith and all that follows from them.

“And remind them of the Days of Allah”; that is, of His blessings upon them and His kindness toward them, as well as the days when He dealt with the nations that denied the truth and the blows He dealt the disbelievers, so that they might be grateful for His blessings and beware of His punishment. “Surely in this”—that is, in the Days of Allah involving His servants—“are signs for everyone who is steadfastly patient and deeply grateful”; that is, one who is steadfastly patient through adversity, hardship, and distress, and deeply grateful in times of ease and blessing.
