41 “My two fellow prisoners! As for one of you”—the one who dreamed that he was pressing wine—he will leave prison “and serve wine to his master.” That is, he will serve wine to the master whom he formerly served, which necessarily entails his release from prison. “As for the other”—the one who dreamed that he was carrying bread upon his head from which birds were eating—“he will be crucified, and the birds will eat from his head.” Joseph interpreted [the image of] the bread eaten by the birds as the flesh and fat of the man’s head and the brain it contained. He would not be buried and concealed from the birds; rather, he would be crucified and placed where the birds could eat from him. Joseph then informed them that the interpretation he had given them would inevitably come to pass, saying: “The matter about which you both seek an interpretation has been decreed.” That is, the matter whose interpretation and explanation you are asking about.
