(113) “The Jews say, ‘The Christians have no truth to stand upon,’ and the Christians say, ‘The Jews have no truth to stand upon,’ although they recite the Scripture. Those who have no knowledge likewise say the same. Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.”
The People of the Scripture were driven so far by their desires and envy that they declared one another misguided and unbelieving, just as the unlettered peoples—the Arab polytheists and others—did.
Thus, each faction declares the other misguided. In the Hereafter, Allah will judge between those who differed with His just judgment, of which He has informed His servants. For indeed (1), there is no triumph or salvation except for those who believe in all the prophets and messengers, obey their Lord’s commands, and avoid His prohibitions. All others are doomed.
