“110–113” “We certainly gave Moses the Scripture, but differences arose concerning it. Had a word not already gone forth from your Lord, the matter between them would have been decided. Indeed, they are in disturbing doubt concerning it. * Your Lord will surely repay each and every one of them in full for their deeds. He is fully aware of all that they do. * So remain steadfast as you have been commanded, together with those who have repented with you, and do not transgress. He sees all that you do. * Do not incline toward those who do wrong, lest the Fire touch you. You will then have no protectors apart from Allah, nor will you be helped.”
Allah Most High states that He gave Moses the Scripture—the Torah—which should have led its followers to agree upon its commands and prohibitions and to remain united. Despite this, those who claimed adherence to it differed over it in a manner that harmed both their beliefs and their religious unity.
“Had a word not already gone forth from your Lord”—delaying them and not hastening their punishment—“the matter between them would have been decided” by inflicting punishment upon the wrongdoers. His wisdom, however, required that He delay judgment between them until the Day of Resurrection, and so they remained in disturbing doubt concerning it.
Given that this was their attitude toward their own Scripture, it is hardly surprising that a group of Jews should disbelieve in the Quran Allah revealed to you and remain in disturbing doubt concerning it.
“Your Lord will surely repay each and every one of them in full for their deeds.” That is, Allah will inevitably judge between them (1) on the Day of Resurrection with His just judgment, recompensing each according to what he deserves.

“He is fully aware of all that they do,” whether good or evil. Nothing they do, great or small, is hidden from Him.
After informing us of their failure to remain steadfast—which led to their disagreement and division—Allah commanded His Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and the believers with him to remain steadfast as commanded. They must follow the laws Allah has prescribed, believe the sound doctrines of which He has informed them, deviate from them neither to the right nor to the left, persevere in them, and not transgress by exceeding the bounds of steadfastness that Allah has set for them.
His words, “He sees all that you do,” mean that none of your deeds is hidden from Him, and He will recompense you for them. This encourages adherence to steadfastness and warns against its opposite. He therefore warned them against inclining toward those who had departed from the straight path, saying: “Do not incline”—that is, do not lean—“toward those who do wrong.” For if you incline toward them, agree with them in their wrongdoing, or approve of the wrongdoing they practice, “the Fire will touch you” if you do so. “You will have no protectors apart from Allah” to shield you from His punishment or procure for you any of His reward.
“Nor will you be helped.” That is, the punishment will not be repelled from you once it touches you. This verse therefore warns against inclining toward any wrongdoer. Such inclination means leaning toward him, joining him in his wrongdoing, agreeing with him in it, and approving of his wrongdoing.
If this warning applies merely to inclining toward wrongdoers, what, then, of the wrongdoers themselves?! We ask Allah to keep us safe from wrongdoing.
