(23โ24) โIndeed, those who believe, do righteous deeds, and humbly submit to their Lordโthey are the people of Paradise, where they will remain forever. * The likeness of the two groups is that of the blind and the deaf compared with the seeing and the hearing. Are they equal in likeness? Will you not then take heed?โ
Allah Most High says: โIndeed, those who believeโ in their heartsโthat is, they affirm and acknowledge what Allah has commanded them to believe concerning the foundations and fundamental principles of the religion.
โAnd do righteous deeds,โ encompassing the deeds of the heart and limbs and the words of the tongue. โAnd humbly submit to their Lordโโthat is, they yield to Him, submit before His greatness, humble themselves before His authority, and turn to Him with love, fear, hope, and earnest supplication.
โTheyโโthose who combine these qualitiesโโare the people of Paradise, where they will remain forever,โ because there is no good aim that they have failed to attain and no good deed in which they have not hastened to take the lead.
โThe likeness of the two groupsโโthat is, the group of the wretched and the group of the blessedโโis that of the blind and the deaf,โ which describes the wretched, โcompared with the seeing and the hearing,โ which describes the blessed.
โAre they equal in likeness?โ They are not equal at all; rather, the difference between the two is beyond description. โWill you not then take heedโ of the deeds that benefit you and perform them, and of the deeds that harm you and forsake them?
