(6) “There is no creature on earth whose provision is not guaranteed by Allah. He knows its dwelling place and its temporary abode. All is in a clear Record.”
That is, Allah Most High has undertaken to provide the sustenance and nourishment of every creature that moves upon the face of the earth, whether a human being or an animal of the land or sea. Thus, its provision (1) rests with Allah.
“He knows its dwelling place and its temporary abode.” That is, He knows where these creatures dwell—the place in which each one resides, settles, and takes refuge—and their temporary abode: the place to which each one moves in its comings and goings and amid the changing circumstances of its life.
Every detail of their circumstances is “in a clear Record”; that is, in the Preserved Tablet, which contains every event that has occurred or will occur in the heavens and on earth. Allah’s knowledge encompasses them all; His Pen has recorded them, His will takes effect concerning them, and His provision embraces them. Let hearts, therefore, rest assured of the sufficiency of the One who has undertaken to provide for them and whose knowledge encompasses their very beings and attributes.
