(34) “For every nation there is an appointed term. When their term comes, they can neither delay it for a single moment nor bring it forward.”

That is, Allah brought the children of Adam forth onto the earth, settled them therein, and appointed for them a fixed term. No nation can precede its appointed time or delay it—neither entire nations nor their individual members.
