(118, 119) “So eat of that over which Allah’s name has been mentioned, if you truly believe in His signs.”
Allah Most High commands His believing servants, as faith requires, that if they are indeed believers, they should eat livestock and other lawful animals over which Allah’s name has been mentioned, and regard them as lawful. ⦗271⦘ They must not act as the people of the Age of Ignorance did, declaring many lawful things forbidden through innovations of their own making and the misguidance of their devils. Allah thus states that a sign of the believer is to oppose the people of the Age of Ignorance in this reprehensible practice, which entails altering Allah’s law.
