This also includes everyone who lies about Allah by claiming (1) that He has a partner and helpers, or [asserts] that anyone besides Him deserves to be worshipped, or attributes to Him a consort or child, as well as everyone who rejects the truth brought by the messengers or by those who stand in their stead.
(22–24) “On the Day We gather them all together, We will say to those who associated others with Allah, ‘Where are the partners you used to claim?’ Then their only response when put to the test will be to say, ‘By Allah, our Lord, we were not among those who associated others with Allah.’ See how they lie against themselves, and how what they used to fabricate has vanished from them.”
(1) This is the reading in manuscript B; manuscript A reads: “supplication.”
