Tafsir al-SadiAbd al-Rahman al-Sadi’

(69) “Indeed, those who believe, those who are Jews, the Sabians, and the Christians—whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day and acts righteously—will have no fear, nor will they grieve.”

The Exalted informs us that the People of the Scriptures (1)—the people of the Quran, the Torah, and the Gospel—all attain happiness and salvation by one path founded upon a single principle: belief in Allah and the Last Day [and righteous deeds]. (2) Whoever among them believes in Allah and the Last Day will attain salvation. They will have no fear concerning the frightening matters ahead of them, nor will they grieve over those they have left behind. This ruling applies to every age.
