“But those who disbelieve and deny Our signs”—which point to the manifest truth, yet they denied them after they had made the truths clear—“are the inhabitants of the Hellfire,” remaining with it as constantly as one companion remains with another.

﴿11﴾ “O you who believe, remember Allah’s blessing upon you when a people intended to stretch out their hands against you, but He withheld their hands from you. Fear Allah, and in Allah let the believers place their trust.”
Allah Most High reminds His believing servants of His immense blessings and urges them to remember these blessings in their hearts and with their tongues. Just as they regard slaying their enemies, taking their wealth and lands, and capturing them as blessings, they should likewise regard as a blessing His favor in withholding their enemies’ hands from them and turning their schemes back against them. For they were enemies who had resolved upon a course of action and believed themselves capable of carrying it out.
Thus, when they fail to achieve their objective against the believers, this is a victory from Allah for His believing servants, for which they should thank Allah, worship Him, and remember Him. This applies to everyone who intends evil against the believers—whether a disbeliever, a hypocrite, or an aggressor—and whose harm Allah withholds from the Muslims; such a person falls within the scope of this verse.
Allah then instructed them to employ that by which they may obtain help in gaining victory over their enemy and in all their affairs, saying: “And in Allah let the believers place their trust.” That is, they should rely upon Him to secure their religious and worldly interests, renounce reliance on their own power and strength, and trust Allah Most High to bring about what they desire. A servant’s reliance upon Allah is commensurate with his faith, and it is one of the unanimously recognized obligations of the heart.
