(85) “Whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.”
That is, whoever worships Allah according to a religion other than Islam—the religion Allah has approved for His servants—will have his deeds rejected and unaccepted. This is because Islam entails submission to Allah through sincere devotion and obedience to His Messengers. Unless a servant fulfills this, he has not taken the means of deliverance from Allah’s punishment and attainment of His reward. Every religion besides Islam is false. Then Allah Most High said:
﴿٨٥﴾ ﴿وَمَنْ يَبْتَغِ غَيْرَ الإسْلامِ دِينًا فَلَنْ يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ فِي الآخِرَةِ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ﴾ .
أي: من يدين لله بغير دين الإسلام الذي ارتضاه الله لعباده، فعمله مردود غير مقبول، لأن دين الإسلام هو المتضمن للاستسلام لله، إخلاصا وانقيادا لرسله فما لم يأت به العبد لم يأت بسبب النجاة من عذاب الله والفوز بثوابه، وكل دين سواه فباطل، ثم قال تعالى:
