“Their reward with their Lord is Gardens of everlasting residence beneath which rivers flow, abiding therein forever. Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. That is for whoever fears his Lord.”
“Their reward with their Lord is Gardens of everlasting residence”—that is, gardens in which they will dwell, with no departure or leaving, and no higher end to be sought. “Beneath which rivers flow, abiding therein forever. Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him.” He is pleased with them because they did what pleases Him, and they are pleased with Him because of the various honors and abundant rewards He has prepared for them. “That”—this excellent reward—“is for whoever fears his Lord,” meaning whoever fears Allah and thus refrains from disobeying Him and fulfills his obligations (1).
