(7) “O you who disbelieve, make no excuses today. You are only being recompensed for what you used to do.”

That is, on the Day of Resurrection, the inhabitants of the Fire will be rebuked in this manner. It will be said to them: “O you who disbelieve, make no excuses today.” [That is:] The time for excuses has passed, and excuses are no longer of any benefit. Nothing now remains but recompense for deeds, and you put forward nothing but disbelief in Allah, denial of His signs, and hostility toward His messengers and devoted servants.
