“Thus the outcome for both of them”—the caller, who is Satan, and the one called, who is man, when he obeys him—“is that they will be in the Fire, abiding therein,” as Allah Most High says, “He only calls his followers so that they may become companions of the Blaze.” “That is the recompense of the wrongdoers,” who share in wrongdoing and disbelief, even though the severity and intensity of their punishment may differ. This is Satan’s habitual way with all his allies: he calls them and deceitfully entices them toward what will harm them until, once they have fallen into the snares and the causes of destruction have closed in upon them, he disowns and abandons them.
All blame—every bit of it—falls upon the one who obeys him. Allah has warned against him, cautioned mankind, and disclosed his aims, his objective, and his ultimate end. Whoever therefore ventures to obey him knowingly commits sin and has no excuse.
