Tafsir al-SadiAbd al-Rahman al-Sadi’

﴿6-7﴾ “On the Day when Allah resurrects them all and informs them of what they did. Allah has kept an account of it, though they have forgotten it. And Allah is Witness over all things.”

Allah Most High says: “On the Day when Allah resurrects them” all together, “they will rise swiftly from their graves.” He will then recompense them for their deeds and “inform them of what they did,” whether good or evil, for He knew it, inscribed it in the Preserved Tablet, and commanded the noble recording angels to record it. All this while those who committed these deeds have forgotten what they did, but Allah has kept an account of it.

“And Allah is Witness over all things”: what is outward (1), what lies within, and everything concealed and hidden.

(1) In manuscript B: “over outward things.”
