(58–62) “Have you considered what you emit? Is it you who create it, or are We the Creator? We have decreed death among you, and none can prevent Us from replacing you with others like you and bringing you into being in forms you do not know. You already know the first creation, so why do you not take heed?”

That is: Consider the beginning of your creation from the semen you emit. Is it you who create that semen and what develops from it, or is Allah Most High the Creator—the One who created within you sexual desire and its means in male and female, guided each of them to what is required, made the spouses beloved to one another, and placed between them affection and mercy as a means of procreation?

For this reason, Allah Most High directed them to infer (1) the later creation from the first creation, saying: “You already know the first creation, so why do you not take heed?” The One capable of originating your creation is also capable of restoring you.
